According to Baseball Reference (the greatest website ever), the Chicago White Sox have hit a total of 9,962 home runs in their long and storied franchise's existence. By my public school math, that means they are a mere 38 away from a big milestone: the 10,000 White Sox home run. Do you think they'll hit the big one this year (they have 31 games left)? When will they hit it? Whether it comes this year or not, who do you think will be the lucky hitter? If you're feeling creative (and/or if you want Best Answer), come up with a scenario for the home run. Here's an example: Paul Konerko lines a 3-2 fastball from Fausto Camona in the 6th inning of the last game of the season, a 11-3 Sox victory over Cleveland. The shot lands in the fourth row of the right field stands. BQ: The next franchise after the Sox to reach 10,000 should be their division rivals, the Minnesota Twins (formerly Washington Senators). They are at 9,485 homers right now. If your crystal ball is especially shiny today, go ahead and predict when the Twins will hit their 10,000th dinger too.
